"In a no-holds-barred monologue Wednesday, June 2, 2021, Fox News host Tucker Carlson called for a criminal investigation of Dr. Anthony Fauci in the aftermath of the release of thousands of Fauci’s emails.
The emails, exchanged in the early days of the pandemic between Fauci and numerous individuals, including Facebook’s Mark Zuckerberg and billionaire Bill Gates, were obtained through a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request. They were released to the public in the early-morning hours of June 2, 2021.
News media pounced on the release, with each reporter offering their own spin on what the fallout of the emails — which showed that Fauci apparently not only lied to the public but in Senate hearings — could be. Carlson blasted Fauci for what he said was “utter fraudulence” that should put Fauci under a criminal investigation.
After courteously hosting him on numerous Fox newscasts including Carlson’s, the emails showed that “Tony Fauci was just another sleazy federal bureaucrat deeply political and often dishonest", Carlson said. “More shocking … was that Fauci himself was implicated in the very pandemic he’d been charged with fighting. Fauci supported the grotesque and dangerous experiments that appeared to have made COVID possible".
The emails are so damning that “in retrospect it looks a lot like perjury", Carlson said, outlining how the emails showed Fauci had lied under oath in Senate hearings".
